Prince Edward County council will hear an update from the Environmental Advisory Committee at its meeting Tuesday.
The EAC has identified a number of successes to date including new tree policy and new environmental protection in the draft official plan.
Some challenges identified in the report from the EAC include excessive committee process which they say causes months long delays, as well as a “lack of urgency, empowerment or ownership from council” despite the declaration of a climate emergency in 2019.
Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
