Despite pandemic-related changes, this year’s revamped Maple In The County event still paid some sweet dividends for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Since in-person visits to local sugar bushes weren’t allowed, maple producers sold “Maple In The County To Go” bags and donated 100% of the proceeds to the foundation’s “Back the Build Campaign” towards a new hospital in Picton.
That led to a $6,000 donation that was presented to the foundation this week.
Anyone who wants to pick up products from local Maple in The County producers can still do so, with donations also being accepted to the “Back the Build” campaign.
