Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a man was shot and killed during an interaction with Northumberland OPP, near Castleton, on Tuesday.
A tweet from the SIU around 2:20 p.m., says the incident happened in the area of County Road 25 and Tobacco Road south of Warkworth, and that more details were to follow later today.
Another tweet from Today’s Northumberland’s Pete Fisher says the incident is believed to have started at a home near Castleton, leading to a short police chase.
A section of County Road 25 is currently closed to traffic as the investigation continues.
