March building activity in Quinte West was up slightly this year from 2020 and significantly from 2019.
The building department issued 70 permits last month, with a total construction value of more than $14.1 million.
Sixty-eight permits were issued in March 2020, worth more than $10.1 million and only 38 permits were issued in March 2019, worth more than $6.2 million.
To date, the city has issued 159 building permits since the start of the year, worth just north of $29.2 million, up substantially from 2020, when 136 permits were issued at a value of almost $17 million.
