The province of Ontario announced in a release Friday that the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington health unit region is among four health units that will be moved to a yellow zone under the province’s COVID-19 framework.
Starting at 12:01 a.m. Monday, March 22 the KFL&A health unit region will be under the restrictions associated with the yellow zone which includes restrictions of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, limits on restaurant dining and capacities on the amount of people allowed inside businesses and public buildings.
The KFL&A health unit region has been designated a green zone since mid-February but a recent spike in cases in the area has bumped the rolling seven day rate of average cases per 100,000 people to 29.1. In Hastings Prince Edward the rolling seven day case rate per 100,000 people is currently 3.0.
