Two-and-a-half months after a worker at a Belleville food processing plant was severely injured, the Ministry of Labour’s investigation is still ongoing.
That investigation started on December 30, 2020, after a man in his 20s severed his arm during his shift at JBS Foods.
The victim’s mother told the Belleville Intelligencer earlier this year that her son was cleaning an auger when another worker turned on the machine while he was underneath.
A Belleville Police report on New Year’s Eve noted that the victim had undergone an 11-hour surgery to repair the limb.
An MOL spokesperson tells Quinte News that eight orders were issued to the company late last year, but no details are being released, as the investigation continues.
