The provincial government is granting more money to Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox and Addington counties to protect vulnerable people from COVID-19.
The province will be adding $1,153,397 million to Hastings County through the Social Services Relief Fund and Lennox and Addington, which provides service to Prince Edward County, will receive $893,022.
The money will go towards keeping emergency shelter residents and staff better protected from COVID-19 and to preventing more people from becoming homeless by acquiring hotel and motel space, hiring more staff, purchasing PPE and add to rent and utility banks.
To date, Hastings County has received $3,459,950 through the SSRF and Lennox and Addington has received $2,678,879.
