The Municipality of Tweed has set up a shelter for people who live near the Tweedsmuir Hotel as firefighters continue to deal with the fire at the historic downtown building.
The Lions Hall in Tweed is open and water will be available.
Anyone who’s been evacuated is to report to Lions Hall.
Meanwhile, a Tweed council meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled.
