There was another sharp jump in monthly home sales for February, compared to 2020.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors says 289 homes were sold last month, a 35% increase from the same month last year.
Year-to-date home sales are also up just about 19%, with 465 units sold over the first two months of the year.
The average list price of a home in the Quinte Region last month was also up significantly, at $443,400, a 34.5% jump from February 2020, with the average sale price well above that, at $583,935.
That’s 53.5% higher than February of last year.
QDAR President Don McColl says there were more homes listed last month, compared to the year before, but “the current imbalance in the local market” has continued to drive prices up to record highs for the fifth time in six months.
