424 Squadron search and rescue personnel from 8 Wing Trenton assisted in the rescue of two people stranded on an ice flow on Georgian Bay Sunday.
The pair found themselves in distress when the ice they were on broke away from the main ice pack in an area near East Tobermory.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre dispatched a Hercules aircraft and a Griffon helicopter to the scene.
The people were spotted from the air by the Hercules crew and the pair were hoisted to safety by an OPP helicopter.
There were no reports of injury.
