A fatal fire in Stone Mills Saturday is being investigated by Lennox and Addington OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal.
Shortly after 2 p.m. emergency crews were called to a residence on Bethel Road in the Township of Stone Mills after a passerby saw a structure on fire on the property. The structure was severely damaged and upon further investigation, fire crews discovered a body in the debris. According to police it is believed to be one of the residents.
The area has been secured and the investigation is underway. Bethel Road remains open but police are asking that people avoid the area due to the number of emergency vehicles still on the scene.
The identity of the deceased is not being released but more information may be available Monday.
