Three people have been charged after a Valentine’s Day disturbance at the Trenton ONroute on Highway 401 east.
Quinte West OPP were called to a reported theft from one of the businesses at the rest stop, with witnesses saying a suspect took some items and tried to get away to a nearby car.
That turned into a fight between an employee, the suspect and two other people in the vehicle, one of which allegedly pulled out a knife.
The car got away but was pulled over by Lennox and Addington OPP a short time later.
Twenty-eight-year-old Brandon Condrey of Hamilton is charged with:
- Theft under $5000
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Fail to comply with a probation order; and
- Fail to comply with a release order
He was held for a bail hearing over the weekend.
Meanwhile 44-year-old Mary Mullins of Haldimand County and 21-year-old Zoey Ramey of Hamilton, are each charged with assault with a weapon.
They were both released with court dates in March.
