A woman in her 50s was injured Wednesday morning after being trapped under a horse.
Quinte West Firefighters from Station 2 responded to an address on Loyalist Parkway, around 9:30 a.m., where a Clydesdale had fallen on the woman.
Fire Chief John Whelan says it’s unclear how long the woman was stuck under the animal, but firefighters used shovels to dig her out, before using straps to then help the animal stand up.
He says the woman was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital by Hastings-Quinte EMS where she was treated for a broken leg.
No other information has been released.
