While the investigation is still continuing, Lennox and Addington OPP are releasing a bit more information about a fatal crash yesterday, including the name of the man who died.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 1800 block of County Road 9, southeast of Deseronto just before 4:00 p.m., where a tow truck that was towing another vehicle collided with a house.
The driver of the tow truck, 59-year-old Derry Rankin of Greater Napanee was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger in the tow truck and everyone inside the house were uninjured.
Police say post-mortem has now been completed and indicates the driver encountered a medical issue while driving, and investigators think that was a contributing factor in the crash.
The road was closed for an initial investigation and to get the truck away from the house and OPP say they’re still trying to figure out what led to the crash.
