The nomination period for the annual Police Services Hero of the Year Awards is now open.
Each year three people employed by municipal police services in Ontario are chosen from nominations submitted in three different categories.
Those are On-Duty Difference Maker, Uniform/Sworn Police Officer, On-Duty Difference Maker, Civilian Employee, and Community Role Model.
Last year, although not the winner, Constable Scott Tinsley of the Belleville Police Service was one of three finalists in the On-Duty Difference Maker, Uniform Officer category.
The public is invited to make nominations. Nominations close March 15.
