The shortened American Hockey League season is slated to start on Friday, but the Belleville Senators and the rest of thier Canadian counterparts won’t be in action.
The AHL announced changes to the schedule for the Pacific Division on Monday, since the Stockton Heat are moving up to Calgary with their NHL parent club, but did not release any details on when the teams in the Canadian Division will begin play.
The league says schedules for the B-Sens, Stockton, Laval Rocket, Manitoba Moose and Toronto Marlies will be “released at a later date”.
The Sens and Marlies are still waiting on provincial approval to both allow them to play and decide where they will play.
It’s not known yet if the B-Sens will play in Belleville or Ottawa, while the Marlies are waiting to hear if they can play out of their home at Coca-Cola Coliseum, or if they’ll have to share space at Scotiabank Arena with the Maple Leafs.
