Five people have been arrested and investigators have seized a large amount of cocaine, crystal meth, fentanyl and cash, after police stopped a vehicle and searched a home in Belleville on Wednesday.
The traffic stop in the east end and search warrant in the west end, were executed as part of Project Renewal, an ongoing joint-forces police initiative into the illegal sale and distribution of drugs in the city.
Police say the total street value of the confiscated drugs is just under $30,000, along with $1,750 in cash.
Three men from the Greater Toronto Area, a man from Cornwall and a woman from Belleville are all facing various drug trafficking charges as follows:
- 26 year-old Rafi Alakoozai of Cornwall is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
- 18 year-old Ahmadsahujo Nurogho of Whitby is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
- 33 year-old Jane Robinson of Belleville is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
- 18 year-old Taijaune Khan of Scarborough is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
- 19 year-old Kasheem Wilson of Pickering is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime
All five suspects were released with court dates on March 1, 2021 in Belleville.
