Prince Edward County council is getting down to serious discussion about an important industry in the county, tourism.
At its Committee of the Whole meeting Thursday council will see a staff recommendation that $248,000 be taken out of its Municipal Accommodation Tax revenue to implement some measures in a wide ranging Tourism Management Plan.
The County has become so popular with beachgoers and other tourists that serious traffic, littering, and trespassing have angered full time residents.
The plan recommends investing in more bylaw officers, more parking restrictions, fees, fines and increased security and entrance fees at some popular destinations.
The virtual Committee of the Whole meeting begins at 1 p.m. Thursday.
