Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported the same number of new COVID-19 infections Sunday as it did Saturday at seven.
Six people have since recovered since Saturday leaving the number of active cases at 28.
The new cases Sunday were located in Belleville, Quinte West, and Prince Edward County. Most contracted the coronavirus through close contact.
Three people remain in hospital with one in the Intensive Care Unit. No one is on a ventilator.
There remain two outbreaks, one at Hastings Manor in Belleville and the other at Crown Ridge Long Term Care Home in Trenton.
The case rate per 100,000 population remains quite low at 13.1. That score would normally put Hastings and Prince Edward counties in the Yellow Protect zone
in which all businesses and schools would be open, but with certain restrictions.
However, all of Ontario has been placed in the Grey Lockdown zone to fight alarming increases in infection rates in certain areas.
COVID-19 case updates for Northumberland County are not provided on Sundays.
