A Brampton man is facing several serious charges following an interaction with police in December of 2020.
Belleville Police received a call from an upset woman around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning regarding an argument with a man who had been staying in her apartment for several days.
Police say the woman feared for her safety, as the man was showing signs of violence. After leaving her apartment with her children, she advised officers that the man was wanted by police and told her that he would not be taken by law enforcement.
An investigation revealed that the man was wanted on numerous serious offences that stemmed back to a police chase in the city, which was called off for safety reasons, in December of 2020.
According to police, the accused also attempted to strike a police officer with his vehicle while the officer was standing outside his patrol vehicle during that incident.
This morning (Saturday) Belleville Police officers, along with the K9 Unit, located the man at a south east apartment complex and took him into custody without incident.

• Flight from Police
