The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls for service from January 15, 2021 at 5 a.m. to January 16, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Theft & Mischief
On January 15, 2021 around 12 p.m., city police attended a residence in the north end of the city regarding a theft of vehicle plates and camera equipment. This incident was in relation to a domestic situation. After the investigation, officers arrested a 35-year-old Belleville man for Theft Under $5,000 and Domestic Mischief.
The accused was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on February 8, 2021 to answer to his charges. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Drugs / Breach of Court Order
Later January 15, 2021 at 8 p.m., city police stopped a vehicle on Ann Street at the Dundas Street East intersection as the driver was known to the police and known to be in breach of a court order. The investigation revealed that the accused woman was in possession of a small amount of cocaine. The accused was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service.
Fifty-year-old, Andrea Thomas of Belleville was charged with Breaching a Court Order and Possession of a Scheduled 1 substance, that being cocaine. The accused was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on February 8, 2021 to answer to her charge.
