A Tyendinaga Police officer was involved in a scary situation on Thursday.
In a post on the police service’s Facebook page Friday, Chief Jason Brant says two officers were driving west on York Road, when a vehicle with an incorrect Quebec plate drove up behind them aggressively.
The officers pulled over to let the vehicle pass and then pulled the car over.
During the traffic stop the driver pulled away with the officer leaning inside the window and pulled him along for a short time, before he was able to break free, leading to a brief chase which ended at a home on the Territory.
Brant says the officers tried to make an arrest, but decided instead to serve the 66-year-old man with charges after the fact.
Those charges will include criminal and traffic offences.
Neither of the officers was injured in the incident.
