Building in Belleville was up significantly in December, compared to the same month in 2019.
The city issued 77 permits, with a construction value of more than $12.5 million last month, compared to just 35 permits worth $3.47 million in December 2019.
Thirty-five of the permits issued last month were for new homes.
Through all of 2020, the city issued 767 permits with a construction value of more than $101 million, which was down slightly from the total in 2019.
