Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Quinte region and beyond.
The warning seen below was issued just after 3 a.m. today (Thursday Christmas Eve)
Heavy rainfall totalling 30 to 50 mm is expected to develop Thursday and continue into Friday. The frozen ground will have a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Hazards:
30 to 50 mm of rainfall ( 1 to 2 inches)
Timing:
Rain will intensify this morning and last through Friday morning.
Discussion:
Rain is forecast to continue intensifying this morning, with periods of heavy rain likely today and tonight. Rain will ease to showers and then snow flurries Friday. A total of 30 to 50 mm of rain is expected across eastern Ontario.
