Leon’s Superstore Trenton is being recognized with a significant honour.
Leon’s is being recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals – South Eastern Ontario as the National Philanthropy Day – Outstanding Philanthropic Organization.
Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Wendy Warner nominated the business for the honour.
She says she can’t think of a more worthy business.
“You know the thing about Leon’s that I have really been inspired about myself, is that when I first approached them years ago, Mike was all in. Like, some people say ‘Yeah we’ll do it’; he was all in.”
Annually in November, the AFP awards Outstanding Fundraising Volunteers, Organizations, and Individuals who have gone above and beyond to be philanthropic. As the Outstanding Business, Leon’s is being recognized as a corporation that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment through their financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
Leon’s joins previous area Outstanding Business award winners: Whitley Insurance and Financial, Smylie’s Independent Grocer and McDougall Insurance.
National Philanthropy Day is celebrated on November 15.
