Public consultation on the future of the Sir John A. Macdonald station in Picton will close next week.
Input is being taken on the statue, which has been vandalized on multiple occasions, until Friday, October 2.
The statue has sparked controversy over Macdonald’s past and specifically, his treatment of Indigenous people.
You can either provide your input online by clicking here, or by sending written comments to Shire Hall (“Holding Court” Statue Working Group, c/o County of Prince Edward, 332 Main Street, Picton, ON, K0K 2T0.)
Once the public consultation period ends, a report with recommendations will come back to council and be presented at a special meeting on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m.
