Mayor Steve Ferguson made his comments in a Facebook post today (Friday) noting the “troubling rise in COVID-19 cases in Ontario” and says “we must be prepared for anything that COVID-19 throws at us in the coming weeks and months.”
Ferguson is encouraging the usual practices of hand washing, mask wearing and limiting the sizes of gatherings, but is also advising any local seniors who typically go south for the winter not to do so, noting that “travelling to the United States this year would not be a wise decision” and could also not be an option given travel restrictions.
