It’s going to be a back to school day like none other Thursday (tomorrow, today).
Some elementary school students and those in Grade 9 will head back to classrooms for the first time since the Covid 19 pandemic struck back in March.
There will be many more kids and their parents out and about, along with buses, and Sergeant Brad Stitt who heads the Belleville Police Services’ Traffic Safety Unit told CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker his officers will be a visible presence in school safety zones.
“there’s an added angst this year with kids going back to school and so minds may be on a lot of things other than traffic safety and so everybody has to work together to make sure that those little ones make it to school and home safetly at the end of the day.”
Remember when a school buses red lights are flashing traffic in both directions must stop to allow students to get on or off the bus.
