The Hastings-Prince Edward area is seeing another new confirmed case of COVID-19 today.
According to the HPE Public Health COVID-19 Dashboard, the newest case was confirmed yesterday in the Tyendinaga/Deseronto area and is related to travel outside the province.
Health Unit Spokesperson Karen LaRose tells Quinte News that the good news is there hasn’t been any community transmission since May.
The newest confirmed case brings the total here since the pandemic started to 49 and the active caseload to five, but the health unit says the overall activity level here is considered low.
Testing centres in Belleville, Quinte West, Picton and North Hastings have also done more than 22,000 test swabs to date.
Meawnehile, as of 4:00 p.m. yesterday, the health unit that covers Northumberland County was reporting there was one active case there.
