There is a new case of COVID-19 in Hastings Prince Edward.
The Public Health Unit confirmed Monday the 46th case in the two counties.
The virus was contracted through close contact and confirmed in a lab test on Friday.
Communication Coordinator Karen LaRose says the person is a resident of Central Hastings and contracted COVID-19 through close contact with a positive case.
The individual has been in self-isolation at home since learning they were a close contact of a positive case and is being monitored.
There are two active cases locally, with the last one being reported on August 15.
In Northumberland County, there are 30 cases of COVID-19 with 29 of those being resolved.
