Belleville Police Service responded to 83 calls for service from August 21, 2020 at 5 a.m. to August 22, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Public Intoxication
On August 21, 2020 around 5:30 p.m., police were called to the area of a north end hotel with regards to a domestic in progress. Investigation resulted in a 40-year-old Belleville woman being arrested for public intoxication. She was transported to The Belleville Police Service where she was held until sober and released on a provincial offence notice.
Breach of Undertaking
On August 21, 2020 around 9 p.m., police were called to a licensed establishment in the city’s downtown area with regards to a 24-year-old Belleville man who was breaching his undertaking by being with the woman victim of charges of domestic assault and mischief of which he had been previously released. Officers affected an arrest on the man during which time he resisted them and uttered threats. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held to appear before a justice of the peace via video remand. He faces charges of breach of undertaking, resist arrest and uttering threats. There were no injuries sustained by the man or officers during the altercation.
