The Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls for service from August 19, 2020 at 5 a.m. to August 20, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Wanted man arrested
On August 19, 2020 at 10:15 a.m., police arrested 19-year-old Cairo Brown of Ajax on an outstanding warrant for mischief stemming from an incident on June 29, 2020 where several persons were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. As the investigation progressed, police learned that the involved parties, including Brown, had forced their way into a residence regarding a drug-related feud as part of the incident. Brown was later released, and he will appear in court on September 24.
Mischief to vehicle
On August 19, 2020 at 2:50 p.m., police responded to a South John Street address regarding  mischief to a vehicle. Police were advised by the victim that unknown person(s) had caused extensive damage to the van including damaging the engine and paint. Impaired driver
On August 19, 2020 at 5:15 p.m., police received several calls regarding a possible impaired driver driving dangerously on Moira Street. Police quickly located the vehicle and stopped it on Elgin Street. Police spoke briefly with the driver, and she was arrested for impaired driving. Cara Richardson, 53, of Trenton was charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with more than 80mgs after failed breath tests. Richardson will appear in court on September 24. Her vehicle was also impounded for seven days, and her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
