Local public health officials are reporting a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Hastings-Prince Edward, which was identified over the weekend.
HPE Public Health says “a Central Hastings resident contracted the virus through close contact with an individual who resides outside of Hastings and Prince Edward counties”, but no other information on the case was released.
This new case becomes the 45th in the HPE area since the pandemic began.
The health unit also says more than 20,500 test swabs have been completed at various testing centres and in the community.
