What looked like a dangerous situation turned out to not be so this morning in Glen Miller near the Sonoco paper mill.
Shortly before 9 o’clock, Batawa and Frankford firefighters were called to 624-A Glen Miller Road after reports of part of a house filling with smoke.
It turned out the smoke was coming from a furnace belt and any fire was quickly dealt with and crews began clearing the wood frame duplex of smoke.
No one was injured.
Firefighters had to put out a deck fire caused by careless smoking at the same structure on July 25.
