A Belleville man has been charged with careless driving following an accident in the area of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West in Belleville on Friday.
Around 2:45 p.m., city police, fire and emergency services were called to a single motor vehicle collision.
The vehicle appeared to leave the roadway and strike a tree leaving the driver with a broken hand.
An investigation revealed that the 38-year-old man was the cause of the accident, resulting in a careless driving charge.
The vehicle was severely damaged.
Earlier on Friday around 12 p.m., a woman swerved her vehicle into a utility pole while trying to avoid an animal on the road.
The 23-year-old from Thurlow crashed on Scuttlehole Road causing severe damage to the vehicle and minor injuries to her neck.
There were no reports of any hydro power loss to any residents in the area following the crash.
No charges were laid.
