Belleville Police Service responded to 68 calls for service from July 29, 2020 at 5 a.m. to July 30, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Impaired by drug charge
On July 29, 2020 at 11:30 a.m., Belleville Police were called regarding a male who had been observed stumbling into the driver’s seat of a vehicle and then driving out of an east end parking lot striking cement barriers as he left. Attending officers stopped the vehicle a few blocks away. The driver, 34-year-old Michael Boulter of Belleville was charged with driving while impaired by drug. He was released with an August 27 court date.
Breach of court order
On July 29, 2020 at 5:20 a.m., Belleville Police Officers attended an address on Grier Street regarding a fight between a group outside a residence. A male was located on scene and it was discovered that the male was currently released on a court order with a nightly curfew in Trenton. Twenty-four-year-old Stephan Paterson of Trenton was charged with breaching his court release order and later released with an August 27 court date.
Cruelty to animals
On July 29, 2020, Belleville Police began an investigation into a complaint that an employee of a north end business was abusing animals while working at that business. As a result of the investigation 24-year-old Jordin Woodcox was charged with three counts of cruelty to animals. He was released with an August 27 court date.
