Almost two dozen not-for-profit and charitable organizations have received much needed extra financial support recently from the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward.
The local agency says they were able to disperse a total of $497,000 in funding coming from the Federal government’s Emergency Community Support Fund.
Executive Director of the local United Way Brandi Hodge says the COVID-19 pandemic put extra pressure on groups providing social services and the money helped people deal with hunger, isolation, homelessness, and fear.
