Things are looking good as far as the cost of policing for taxpayers in the Municipality of Tweed.
OPP estimate it will cost just under $1.1 million to provide policing in the village and rural area around it this year.
That works out to about $324 per property, less than the estimated $329 last year.
Meanwhile, the recreational dome in the hamlet of Marlbank will be getting some nice upgrades.
At its meeting this week, Tweed council approved a tender worth almost $30,000 to install
new and durable sports flooring inside the dome.
The floor will be marked with lines outlining various sports, such as pickleball and basketball.
A big part of the upgrades will also include a new cover for the dome. So far, costs approved total
$74,000 and rest of the $94,000 budgeted for the job will be spent on sports equipment for people to use.
