MPP Daryl Kramp says a lot of leg work has gone into securing billions in COVID-related funding for the province, programs, and municipalities.
The member for Hastings Lennox and Addington spoke to Quinte News on the heels of the federal government announcing $7 billion for the province.
He says it is going to be not just the squeaky wheel getting cash, it will be a needs based assessment on each and every dollar.
Rick Phillips, Reeve of the Township of Tyendinaga says he is thrilled the funding is coming but they are awaiting further details to see how that funding will be allocated.
He said they don’t know as a municipality how much money the Township will receive or even if the funding will go to Hastings County and be divided between the 14 member municipalities.
Relief to municipalities, provincial critical services, contact tracing, personal protective equipment, and child care are expected to get the majority of the funding.
