There’s good news for kids and their families in Tweed as the hot summer weather gets underway.
Council has decided to hire extra part-time staff and open the public washrooms and Emily Trudeau Splash Pad in the Tweed Recreation Area by sometime in mid-July.
Community Development Manager Rachelle Hardesty says a lot of work has to be done due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other facilities in the recreation area will be closed until further notice.
Meanwhile, the public washrooms in Tweed Memorial Park on the shores of Stoco Lake continue to be closed.
