There is some good news if you prefer to handle your business with the City of Quinte West in person.
Mayor Jim Harrison told council on Monday night that plans are being put in place to have City Hall open again as of July 6.
For now, residents are encouraged to conduct their business and access city services online.
Council has also decided to extend free parking in the downtown until Labour Day as an incentive to shop downtown and support local businesses.
Meanwhile, with Belleville starting plans to open its farmers market, the City of Quinte West wants to follow suit.
Councillors discussed the issue on Monday with Director of Planning and Development Brian Jardine saying they are still working out specifics, but plans are in the works, with the hope of opening the Trenton Farmers’ Market on Saturdays only, as of July 4 and with proper social distancing measures in place.
Jardine noted that as of right now, vendors do have an online presence through the city’s website.
