Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of Kawartha Lakes Paramedics Service and the Trent Hills Fire department attended the intersection of River Road and Water Lane at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 16, 2020, after receiving a report of a single All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash.
The operator who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected off the ATV after it left the roadway and went into the bushes.
The 32-year-old rider from the Trent Hills area was transported to a local area hospital then air lifted to a trauma center in Kingston to be treated for serious head injuries.
OPP Central Region Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attended and assisted with measuring and documenting the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
