The COVID-19 Pop-up testing centres are expanding into more areas throughout Hastings County.
Community paramedics have been taking the pop-up testing centres into Centre Hastings this week.
A total of 142 people showed up in Tweed and 98 went through the one in Madoc.
About half of those were pre-booked, others just showed up.
Chief of Parmedics Doug Socha tells Quinte News, “We certainly encourage people to pre-register. That way all the paper work is done. And if you have pre-registered we have a fast-track lane for you. If you just show up we’ll give you the paper work to fill out and swab you there as well.”
The paramedics have completed 5,703 COVID-19 tests to date.
Next week the Pop-up testing centres are scheduled to be in Marmora on June 25, in Stirling on June 29, and then in Eldorado on July 3.
