A Prince Edward County woman has been arrested after a traffic complaint led to her being stopped at a RIDE check.
Northumberland OPP say a concerned driver called them around 2:00 p.m. this past Monday and reported a grey Hyundai sedan swerving all over Highway 401 eastbound near Port Hope, and almost hitting the guardrails and other vehicles.
The car exited the highway at Big Apple Drive and was intercepted by officers who had set up the RIDE checkpoint nearby.
Police say the woman displayed signs of impairment during a roadside sobriety test and was taken to the Brighton detachment where she failed a drug recognition evaluation.
The 52-year-old has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs and was released with a court date in August.
