As the province moves into phase two of its reopening plan today, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is releasing a “digital guestbook” to help with contact tracing to track any potential new spread of COVID-19.
Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Alexa Caturay says the digital registry is private and confidential, and requires information like an individual’s name, contact details and the nature of their visit, with the goal of not only tracking the virus, but providing visitors with the most up-to-date information locally.
The health unit is encouraging businesses, tourist establishments and anyone who may be welcoming out-of-town guests to make those visitors aware of the digital guestbook, which can be accessed on the HPE Public Health Website.
Reminders are also being put out to continue physical distancing where possible, use a mask where physical distancing isn’t possible and to stay home if you’re sick.
