For the first time this season stock cars will be on the track at Brighton Speedway, however for practice only with no spectators allowed.
Brighton Speedway owner Angie Rinaldi says they have worked with other speedways and the Provincial Government to allow cars back on the track. However, there are strict guidelines for the safety of staff and all involved.
Rinaldi says the “Track Day” offers drivers some small consolation.
Brighton Speedway had 24 scheduled nights of racing beginning May 2. Rinaldi is hoping the COVID-19 pandemic won’t wipe out the entire season. Brighton Speedway employs 50 people on a typical race night.
The stock car practice sessions will be held this Saturday and Sunday and again, spectators will not be allowed to watch.
