The Belleville branch of the YMCA is opening its doors to help house some of the area’s most vulnerable residents, if they need to be isolated because of COVID-19.
The Y will be used as an emergency supported isolation shelter and would welcome in some residents who need to be isolated because they have either been confirmed to have the virus, or are awaiting test results.
A release from Hastings County says staff from the Grace Inn Shelter will monitor those clients while they’re unable to stay at the shelter’s Church Street location.
YMCA Central East Ontario President Dave Allen says the Y is “committed to our community during these dificult times” and that it is pleased to work with Hastings County to provide shelter for those in need.
