The name of a former Hastings County area doctor has once again come up at a hearing of the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
The certificate of Dr. Rob Kamermans, of the Coe Hill area, was revoked by the College’s Discipline Committee in 2016.
Kamermans appealed and the Divisional Court dismissed his appeal in 2018, meaning Kamermans was no longer a doctor.
On Wednesday afternoon, the College withdrew some allegations against Kamermans in a Notice of Hearing the College held by teleconference.
The prosecutor said the allegations could be brought forward again if Kamermans attempted to apply to become a doctor once more.
Those allegations were not revealed.
Prosecutor Elisabeth Widner issued to Quinte News her statement from the hearing,”Dr. Kamermans’ certificate was revoked by the Discipline Committee in July 2016. Dr. Kamermans appealed and the Divisional Court dismissed his appeal and upheld revocation (of his doctor’s licence) on Feb 9, 2018. The College is withdrawing allegations in the Notice of Hearing, without prejudice to its ability to relay on evidence of the allegations in the event of a reinstatement (of doctor’s licence) application.
