Another player from a local junior A hockey team has picked up a league award.
Trenton Golden Hawks’ forward Adam Kim has been named the Ontario Junior Hockey League Scholastic Player of the Year.
The award goes to the player who best combines success on the ice with success in the classroom and Kim did just that, tallying 50 points in 44 regular season games, while scoring A’s in three of four courses he took this year, at Queen’s University.
Along with the OJHL award and a $500 scholarship prize, the 20 year-old becomes one of 10 finalists in the running for the national award, to be announced at a later date.
