Prince Edward County is taking some steps to make life easier for residents financially, as they deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The municipality says until April 30 it will not be charging interest or penalties on unpaid tax or utility bills, will not be issuing tax arrears certificates on registered properties and will not be disconnecting water accounts.
The province has also confirmed that no new eviction orders will be issued for the time being and any scheduled eviction orders will be postponed, while also extending the validity of drivers’ licences, health cards and other similar services.
The federal government has also decided to extend the deadline for filing taxes until June 1.
